New FHA loan limits

As a result of the recent stimulus package FHA loan limits have changed as shown below. All areas not specifically listed below are grouped into "all other areas".

Mortgage Broker and Originator License Law fully in effect now

The State of Alaska passed the Mortgage License law on July 1st 2008. It temporarily grandfathered existing mortgage companies and originators who offered mortgages in the State of Alaska. That period ended March 1st 2009. Some companies under national regulatory oversight are exempt. All other companies and individual originators have to be licensed with the State of Alaska in order to offer mortgage loans.

To check on active licenses go to: http://www.commerce.state.ak.us/occ/OccSearch/main.cfm and type in "MTG" for the license board and hit search. The complete list of active license holder will be displayed.
