Long Hot Summer
July 22nd, 2009 10:46 AM

It has been an active hot summer. We actually have a real summer this year. Although we are in the clouds right now for some very much needed rain.

On the mortgage front; we are still seeing some take aways of program features, but at a much slower rate than in the past couple years. It's hard to belief we are in this crises already over 2 years. Overall the mortgage product availability has stabilized. Interest rates are still low, helping the affordablility of home loan financing.

It's ironic that here in July I am thinking December. What's important about December? Per current law for the recent economic stimulus plan the tax credit for first time home buyers will sunset on December 1st 2009 unless extended by congress. So, to be eligible for that benefit, you have to have closed on your new home prior to that date. Not much time left. So, that's my call to action for today, and the next week and months. If you are planning to purchase your first home in the near future, keep that deadline in mind.

As always, feel free to contact me with your financing questions. I happy to help.
